Paterson Architecture Collective (P-A-C) is a new ideas-driven design office, launched at the beginning of October 2015. P-A-C is made up of Aaron Paterson, Mark Taucher, Liz Tjahjana and Sarosh Mulla. Based in K Road, Auckland, P-A-C focuses on several interrelated disciplines alongside architecture, including furniture, art, landscape and academia, thereby creating an inclusive approach to design.

“We are committed to intellectual and artistic rigour, and fueled by a strong commitment to realising ideas in the world. We believe a thoughtful and inclusive approach to design, which puts people at the heart of any potential solution, is the key to compelling and positive architecture,” says the studio.

Aaron Paterson is a registered architect with a diverse range of experience designing architecture in New Zealand, ranging from community buildings and hospitality spaces to commercial fit outs. However, Aaron’s specialty is residential architecture – both multi-unit housing and single dwellings. His work in this sector has been widely awarded by the NZIA. He is also a regular design and architectural media tutor at the University of Auckland School of Architecture and Planning.

Mark Taucher is a registered architect with extensive commercial and residential architectural experience. Mark is technically rigorous and naturally organized. Mark holds a B.Arch(Hons) degree and Graduate Diploma in business and quality management from the University of Auckland. His detailed knowledge of the construction process and building information modelling allows Mark to deliver complex projects with confidence.

Liz Tjahjana is an architectural graduate with highly developed architectural drafting and 3D visualization skills, which allow her to provide clients with an exemplary interior design service. Liz holds an M.Arch (prof) degree with first class honours from the University of Auckland where she is also a regular visiting architectural critic. Liz has an eye for detail and this also comes through in the design and manufacturing of her own bespoke pieces of jewellery.

Sarosh Mulla is a designer with experience in residential and commercial architecture, conservation of heritage architecture and civic architecture. Sarosh has led projects awarded by both the NZIA and DINZ. He has recently completed a PhD in Architecture by Practice at the University of Auckland, where he was a Doctoral Scholar. Sarosh’s projects with design collective OH.NO.SUMO and his teaching practice at both the University of Auckland and AUT have focused on creating immersive architectural experiences that improve people’s lives.
