AGM announces two new editors

Chris Barton is the new editor of Architecture New Zealand and Amanda Harkness is the new editor of Houses magazine.

AGM is pleased to announce Amanda Harkness as the new editor of Houses magazine and Chris Barton as the new editor of Architecture New Zealand.

Amanda is a very experienced journalist and has worked in the media industry for many years with roles in advertising agencies, TVNZ, research and print media. Amanda has been a contributor and provided editorial support to Houses for some time now, and she has additionally worked on other AGM titles such as Architecture New Zealand, Interior and Urbis

Chris has been a respected architecture critic for Metro and multi-award winning journalist for many of the nation’s leading print media publications; he also holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Auckland. Chris will continue in his part-time teaching role at the UoA School of Architecture and Planning as an M.Arch thesis supervisor, plus teaching Masters design studios, thesis writing workshops and architecture criticism. 

Chris will also be the editor-at-large for ArchitectureNow: providing features and opinion pieces for our industry-leading online outlet.
