Lovers of contemporary art and design will want to be in Masterton on Saturday 26 October for Art + Design + Degustation. Artist Grant Muir and designer David Trubridge will be sharing insights and inspirations against a backdrop of wine-matched courses by chef Anthony North as part of the inaugural Kokomai Creative Festival.

Art: Wairarapa-based internationally exhibited artist Grant Muir talks about process and inspiration, his real-world experiences reordered, reconstructed, expanded to produce a synthesised expression in paint, large drawings and new technologies.

Design: David Trubridge creations embody ideas from wild places - edges of turbulence and renewal, where seas break on beaches and headlands, where land and air meet on mountain ridges. An internationally celebrated ambassador for good design, he will share his philosophy on environmental and ethical responsibility and the need to design with a social conscience.

Degustation: Savour an exciting and innovative menu of regional food and wine matched by chef Anthony North to complement an evening rich in art and design philosophy. Anthony showcases his passion for fresh, seasonal and local produce at Wakelin House in Greytown. Including the odd foraged find, Anthony’s innovative menus provide an ever-changing unique experience.

Held at the Lennox Design Gallery, tickets to the adults-only event are restricted to just 72 people. Art + Design + Degustation is just one of more than 100 events taking place during the Kokomai Creative Festival from 18 - 27 October. Visit the website for a full list of events.
