Bougainville Library Project by Paul Kerr-Hislop’s firm Art + Architecture.

City Talks, an initiative of the New Zealand Institute of Architects Wellington Branch and presented in partnership with City Gallery Wellington, is a series of talks aimed at fostering dialogue around contemporary architecture and urban issues. 

City Talks are free to attend and will be held in the Adam Auditorium, City Gallery Wellington, Civic Square. The talk schedule is as follows:

Monday 20 April, 6pm 
Paul Kerr-Hislop 
The Bougainville Library Project — Mr Pip Returns.  Learn how the fictional library in Lloyd Jones’s novel Mr Pip was made real in Bougainville by architect, Paul Kerr-Hislop.

All funds raised will be donated to assist with aid in Vanuatu.

Monday 18 May, 6pm 
Chris Kelly + Renzo Piano Films 
Inside Piano. Chris Kelly introduces three short docos exposing the caustic humour of everyday life in Renzo Piano’s buildings.

Monday 15 June, 6pm 
Justine Clark — “Come into our Parlour…” Justine Clark brings equity into the discussion of architecture in the 21st century.
