Buyers get a first look at 123 Halsey and Wynyard Central, in new $1 million-plus residential display suite at the Daldy St/Madden St corner near Auckland's waterfront.

A new $1 million-plus Wynyard Quarter residential display suite has just opened at the Daldy St/Madden St corner near Auckland’s waterfront. Mark McGuinness, managing director of developer Willis Bond, said this smaller-scale building would be used to show interiors and prototypes of the first of 600 new apartments in the area.

“It’s based on a concept we saw about one and a half years ago in Seattle. We thought it was something we could learn from. [The display suite] will be open for some years, so we wanted something that truly reflected the standard of these two projects,” McGuinness said.

Architectus director Patrick Clifford was commissioned to design a 360 m² black, glass-fronted building. It was constructed by Hayden & Rollett and is able to be moved within the Wynyard precinct as various sites are developed progressively.

Inside the display building are scale models of 132 Halsey and Wynyard Central, as well as two display suites, showing the level of amenity and finish that buyers can expect from the units. Interactive display stations mean potential buyers can easily click through to view elevations, renderings and floor plans. A nine-screen live wall TV panel shows an animated fly-through of the scheme.
