The 33rd Dulux Colour Awards were recently announced at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, and Dunedin’s Wains Hotel with interiors by Yellow6 took home the New Zealand Grand Prix title on the night.

Dulux New Zealand colour specialist, Davina Harper noted of the winning design, “This interior uses colour in an elegant and refined way, which is contemporary but still in keeping with the hotel’s Victorian-era heritage.”

Suzanne Lear and Saila Wang from Auckland-based design studio Yellow6 said, “We are honoured for the project recognition and are thrilled to have won. It has been great to celebrate the architecture and design industry with our peers from across Australasia.”

Additionally, two New Zealand students were commended at the awards: Abbey Hale and Lauren Gibbs.
