The Brick Bay Sculpture Trust, Resene and UNITEC are calling for entries for Folly 2015, a brand new design/build project leading to an exhibition at Brick Bay in March 2015.

Brick Bay Folly 2015 welcomes proposals for large-scale projects and installations that explore contemporary interpretations of the architectural folly. The objective is to support young and emerging architects to explore the intersections between architecture and sculpture, and the increasing overlaps in references, concepts, and techniques between the two disciplines.

The winner will be awarded a $25,000 grant towards realising the project, which consists of three components: $5000 worth of technical support and resources from UNITEC, $15,000 worth of building materials, paint and equipment from Resene, and a $5000 cash prize.

The finished project will be installed and exhibited on the Brick Bay Sculptural Trail for 12 months, beginning in March 2015. Submissions close 31 October, 2014.
