The New Zealand Green Building Council has just announced the appointment of four new board members: Anna Palairet, general manager, Property and Infrastructure at Air New Zealand; Robyn Phipps, professor in Construction School of Engineering and Advanced Technology at Massey University; Brendon Dwyer, operations manager Buildings Services at Beca and Patrick Clifford, director at Architectus.

NZGBC chair Mary-Jane Daly says the board members are joining at an exciting time. NZGBC is experiencing an increase in membership and uptake of the ratings tools. “It’s a seminal moment for the New Zealand property sector. More people are realising the importance of verification of quality standards through Green Star, Homestar and NABERSNZ.”

“I’m pleased to be welcoming Anna, Robyn, Brendon and Patrick to the board of directors. Their experience, expertise and commitment to the development and adoption of sustainable green building in New Zealand will serve the NZGBC and the member groups we represent well,” Daly says.

The members join chair Mary-Jane Daly, who is also independent director of Kiwi Property Group Ltd, Airways Corporation of New Zealand, Cigna, and a commissioner on the Earthquake Commission; Gail Calder, general manager, Property & Facilities at Fonterra; Gary Walker, executive general manager of Hawkins Construction and Steve Aschebrock, director and owner at Inzide Commercial Ltd.
