Katie Lockhart is a Kiwi interior designer and the director of Katie Lockhart Studio. She brings her global experience to the 2020 Interior Awards panel of judges. We find out more about what makes her tick.

What will you be looking forward to while judging the Interior Awards 2020?

Katie Lockhard (KL): I always enjoy getting glimpses into the design processes and outcomes of other practitioners. I am sure this year’s entries will not disappoint.

Name one book that has engrossed you recently.

KL: It is not a book, but I always look forward to finding the latest issue of Stone Soup, a free ‘zine with a fresh take on food publishing. Their latest issue, ‘Lost at Sea’, turned its attention to the ocean. A relevant, local read that I always find myself recommending.

What is your favourite drink at the moment?

KL: I have just rediscovered the joy of fresh mint tea. Mint straight from our garden – nothing can be simpler or taste as good to me.
