One of the country’s largest architecture firms, Jasmax, has announced leadership changes to its national interiors team. Alasdair Hood and Shirley Chin will focus on national studio leadership of the firm’s interiors team, bringing a focus to the practice that will enhance design and delivery outcomes for clients.

Christchurch-based designer Alasdair Hood Alasdair has 15 years of experience working on commercial, workplace and high-end residential design. Auckland-based Shirley Chin has worked as an interior designer for over 20 years. Assuming a leadership role within the Jasmax interiors team in 2011, she has strengthened relationships with a wide variety of clients, managed design teams and delivered highly successful projects.

Harry Rowntree (Auckland), Shauna Herminghouse (Wellington) and Jerad Tinnin (Christchurch), have also been appointed as regional leaders.

Managing Principal Marko den Breems says the change is reflective of Jasmax’s evolving interior design business: “This is an opportunity to expand the team’s scope and expertise, and refine our capabilities in order to continue to deliver a high quality of design and service to our clients,” he says.

“These changes will work to capture the unique cultures and regional nuances from across our four studios, and incorporate them into a highly diverse design team, which can input into any project; regardless of location. Tim Hooson, who notably has built the Interiors team over the past 12 years, will shift his focus to other strategic initiatives for the practice.”
