Kinetic artists, engineers, designers, architects, students and creative home inventors are invited to submit their designs and finished works for kinetic sculptures and inventions to the revamped kinetika festival.

The festival, to be held from 25 October to 9 November 2014 at Puke Ariki in New Plymouth, has five categories – four design and build categories and one design-only category – and comes with nearly $20,000 in prize money. The deadline for getting designs in to the four design and build categories is 30 May, while entry to the design-only category closes on 26 September.

Category Four – Taranaki design and we build
Category Five – Student design and we build
