Houses June issue.

In this awards issue of Houses we feature the four winners of the New Zealand Institute of Architects residential house category. From Auckland, Waiheke Island and Northland these four projects demonstrate the superb quality of New Zealand residential architecture.

We also look at four fine houses from +MAP Architects, John Mills Architects, Parker Warburton Team Architects, and Dorrington Architects and Associates.

We talk to architect Sarah Scott about her work in Wanaka, and to emerging talent Nathan Edmondston about designing his own home and his design background. In our books page we look at 46 Square Metres of Land Doesn’t Normally Become A House by Stuart Harrison.

We also talk with the Powersurge Metalworks team about their metalwork design and manufacturing business.

Check out our pick of new products for the modern house and take a look at the 7th Annual Urbis Designday in pictures.
