The New Zealand Steel COLORSTEEL® Awards programme is now accepting entries through 31 July in three categories: Roofer of the Year, Young Roofer of the Year and Building of the Year.

New Zealand Steel have announced a new programme for recognising excellence in the roofing industry – The COLORSTEEL® Awards – and entries are now open until 31 July. The national Awards aim to celebrate the industry’s best roofers and highlight innovative design solutions.

There are three categories to enter: The COLORSTEEL® Young Roofer of the Year, carrying with it a $10,000 cash prize; the COLORSTEEL® Roofer of the Year, who will receive a $25,000 travel voucher; and the COLORSTEEL® Building of the Year, which will be awarded a $25,000 media package.

The judging panel includes New Zealand Steel Chief Executive, Gretta Stephens; Roofing Association New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, Graham Moor; roofing expert Rod Newbold; The Block NZ site foreman, Peter Wolfkamp and director of Crosson Architects, Ken Crosson.

Head of marketing for New Zealand Steel and organiser of the Awards, Sarah Pepworth, says, “We can’t wait to celebrate our first ever COLORSTEEL® Awards and look forward to seeing entries from the most innovative and talented members of New Zealand’s roofing and construction industry.”
