Urbis Designday 2012 on Saturday 24 March was a definite design highlight of the year.

With the generous support of sponsors MINI, GEON, Fisher & Paykel, Luxaflex, Resene and Hewlett Packard, Urbis Designday hosted more than 2,500 design enthusiasts across 12 stunning showrooms and venues around Auckland City.

Designday guests experienced everything from fashion to furniture, body art, bath tubs full of chocolate, ceiling sculptures, design identity maps, landscape design, delicious and unique hospitality, a Mad Hatter’s tea party and a contemporary take on a jungle. It was a riot of colour and activity.

Visitors to the MINI Garage on Urbis Designday wandered through an exciting MINI world created by designers, Material Creative, and the innovators at Eventbase. A serious amount of fun was had donning costumes and getting snapped in one of two themed photo booth kiosks, kindly provided by Photo Booth Fun. Guests then headed off to the next installation with their photo booth strips and a Coffee Supreme fix in hand.
