Superhome National Tours to take place across New Zealand

On 14 and 15 August, this special event will give access to houses that are both energy efficient and healthy, with all participating projects being designed and built to the Superhome Movement’s standards. Tours will be available in Auckland, Nelson, Christchurch, Otago and Southland.

The Superhome National Tours grant access to houses across the country that are designed to be warm, dry and energy efficient.

Described as being far beyond what is required by the current Building Code, the Superhome Movement’s standards are part of the organisation’s wider goal of improving housing in New Zealand. Tickets, which are priced at $10, grant two people full access to the tour over the weekend it is being held. Along with this, the tickets come with a free copy of the Healthy Home Design Guide and a special tour magazine, which profiles the participating houses and contains a bonus first edition of the Healthy Home Guide. The event will also feature talks at selected properties from leaders in the architecture and design industries and organisers encourage participants to schedule their visits to coincide with them.

The Superhome National Tours will take place on the 14th and 15th of August, with free entry for children under 16. In total, 14 homes across the country will be open to visit as part of the tour, with industry members who take part eligible to receive six ADNZ points and 60 NZRAB points based on the number of sites visited.
