Staging his second solo exhibition for Dilmos as part of Milan Design Week 2012 is Israeli-born, New York based artist Ron Gilad. Renowned for his playful exploration of everyday objects and shapes, “Ron Gilad’s hybrid objects combine material wit with aesthetic play; they sit on the fat, delicious line between the abstract and the functional. Gilad is fascinated with philosophizing about the common objects we live with.”

Dilmos proving the ideal exhibition space for him as the gallery “has increasingly tended to choose designers and articles that fully express a philosophy where each piece of furniture is a representation and at the same time a key to the designer’s deeper thoughts, a way of communicating and interacting with the world.” His poetic approach to his work in The line, the arch, the circle + the square allows Gilad to spatially explore not only the environments in which his works sit, but in fact the basic shapes themselves and therefore their rich potential for evolution.

Milan Design Week 2012 will be running from 17-22 April, open to the general public on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of April.
