The 2016 Resene Architecture & Design Film Festival takes place in four locations across New Zealand from May to July.

The fifth annual Resene Architecture & Design Film Festival is coming to a city near you. This year’s line-up of 19 films from all over the world will showcase the most acclaimed and current films in architecture and design, including documentaries on iconic architects, design trailblazers, fearless visionaries and living cities.

The festival films have been grouped into themes, so audiences can navigate towards stories they are most curious about. Themes for 2016 are Concrete Love (featuring sublime Brutalism, Brazil and Bauhaus); Experiments at Water’s Edge; extraordinary and eccentric Design Trailblazers; and Living Cities, considering how we are navigating the challenges of creating sustainable cities.

The festival will play nationwide in four locations:

AUCKLAND: 5–18 May
Rialto Cinemas, Newmarket

WELLINGTON: 26 May–12 June
Embassy Theatre

DUNEDIN: 16–26 June
Rialto Cinemas

CHRISTCHURCH: 30 June–13 July
Academy Gold
