Shaun Carter came to architecture later than some, having first studied and worked in structural engineering. In 1997 he graduated in architecture with First Class Honours from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). In 2004 he established the Sydney practice Carterwilliamson Architects. He shares his passion for architecture as co-convener of the Inner West Architects Network (IWAn), an organizer of architecture tours, as a tutor at UTS and the University of Sydney. His studio’s temporary relief shelter prototype that formed part of the 2011 International Emergency Shelter Exhibition at Customs House in Sydney has now been built.
