35th Dulux Colour Awards call for submissions
Split House by Pac Studio received a commendation in the Residential Exterior category at last year’s Dulux Colour Awards.
The 2020 New Zealand Grand Prix winner was Social Housing Development by Rohan Collett Architects.
The winner of the Grand Prix Australia title at the 2020 Dulux Colour Awards was UOM Southbank – End of Trip by Searlex Waldron Architecture.
Design professionals invited to enter the annual celebration of colour and its use in categories across commercial and residential design. Entries close 24 March 2021.
With categories including Commercial and Multi-Residential Exterior as well as Single Residential Exterior, award organisers are calling on individuals, groups, partnerships and those working in larger practices to enter.
Dulux Colour Specialist Davina Harper says the awards are an opportunity to put on display the cutting-edge use of colour in built spaces.
“It is evident that architects and designers are increasingly using colour as an integral design tool to provide a space meaning - in both its functional and environmental contexts,” Davina says. “Dulux is eager to see their creative employment of colour across a vast breadth of architectural genres with this year’s submissions.”
Each non-student category winner will receive AUD $1,000 in prize money, with students eligible to win AUD $500. New Zealand entrants can also win the New Zealand Grand Prix title and NZD $5,000.
In order to be accepted, projects must have been finished in the time period between 1 September 2019 and 28 February 2021, and can not have been entered previously into the Dulux Colour Awards. The shortlist of finalists will be released to the public online in June this year and are to be assessed by a panel of leaders in the industry, with the award winners scheduled to be announced in August.
