David Oakey is passionate in his pursuit to prove to businesses that sustainability and success can go hand in hand. Since the late 1990s he has been persistant in his global efforts to educate and inspire business people, architects and designers to come up with environmentally sound solutions to every day practices.

While he is probably best known for his award-winning textile designs and work with InterfaceFLOR’s carpet tiles, he is also a keen advocate for nature-based design principles ‘biomimicry’ and a board member of Bio-mimicry Institute.
