Applications are now open for the 2025 Studio Pacific Architecture and Design Scholarship of $5,000 to support a first-year student in their study at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation.

Studio Pacific Architecture has again partnered with Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington’s Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation to offer the scholarship.

Established in 2022, the Studio Pacific Architecture and Design scholarship aims to support the next generation of Māori and Pacific Peoples entering the architecture industry. This comes from the cross-disciplinary practice’s understanding of the challenges that can come with starting a design education, from financial pressures to the uncertainty of taking the first step. The scholarship helps ensure that talented students don’t ‘slip through the cracks’ due to financial hardship and have the support they need to begin their studies with confidence.

What’s on offer

The recipient of the Studio Pacific Architecture and Design Scholarship will be warmly welcomed into the Studio Pacific whānau. On top of receiving $5,000 to support their studies, the winner will receive exclusive opportunities to connect with Studio Pacific’s design experts, receive mentoring, and be given the chance to apply for an internship.

Who should apply?

  • Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Applicants must be of Māori or Pacific descent
  • Applicants must intend to enrol in a full-time first-year course in the Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design

Selection Criteria
