At last night’s annual general meeting of Architecture + Women New Zealand (A+W NZ), Lynda Simmons announced that she would be stepping down from her role as co-chair of the organisation. Simmons was the last of the initial founding group to hold a leadership position. She will be succeeded by Lindley Naismith, who will take up the role along with existing co-chair Divya Purushotham.

Simmons notes that she is proud the leave the organisation in the hands of a leadership team that is strong, talented and thriving. She will continue to serve A+W NZ as both the research leader and the newly-created position of archivist.

In her column in the upcoming July/August issue of Architecture New Zealand magazine, Simmons reflects on her resignation as co-chair and what has/hasn’t changed in the industry since A+W NZ was founded in 2011.
