We invited the team from Laminex to reflect on the past three years by selecting a few standout projects from their time as sponsors.

Home Sweet Home by Rogan Nash. Residential Kitchen Award Winner 2024

Nicola Mason: The ‘Home Sweet Home’ project by Rogan Nash Architects resonated deeply with its blend of creativity and comfort. Designed for a young family, it transformed a challenging triangular site in Auckland into a sanctuary. I loved the use of bold colours, cozy nooks, and thoughtful layouts which were nostalgic. This home balanced functionality with moments of joy and connection.

Marian College by Sheppard and Rout. Education Award Winner 2024.

Kim Moynagh: The Marian College project resonated with me as a symbol of resilience and innovation excellence. Rising from the challenges of Christchurch’s 2011 earthquakes, the school transformed a warehouse into a thriving, sustainable campus. Each space - be it the classrooms, chapel, or performing arts wing - was designed to foster a strong sense of community and creativity. The sky-lit areas symbolised hope and renewal; it’s not just a campus, it’s a heartfelt statement of determination and forward-thinking education.

Wellington Children’s Hospital by Studio Design + Architecture. Finalist Healthcare and Wellness 2023.

Kathie Valintine: The Wellington Children’s Hospital, Te Wao Nui, designed with children and families at its heart, blended clinical excellence with a nurturing environment. The forest-themed interiors, vibrant colours, and natural light create a sense of warmth and connection to nature, critical in an environment that is often thought of as clinical, stark and white. This state-of-the-art facility symbolises the community spirit, standing as a testament to the generosity and vision of its benefactors and the dedication of its designers.

The Laminex team were tasked with selecting a product from their portfolio that the design industry should know more about. The team selected Melteca.
