Ministry announces new Head of Interiors
Ministry has appointed Nancy Disk as head of its interiors team, saying her local and international portfolio of work brings a unique perspective to Auckland’s interior design scene and adds a layer of high-end design capability to the practice’s well-established interior design team.
Disk trained and worked as an interior designer in the United States, before moving to Italy, where, over the next 13 years, she worked on a number of projects in both the architecture and interior design sectors worldwide.
Working at Italy’s PLS Design, she specialised in luxury retail design, architecture and bespoke residential interiors, including working as lead on the Tom Ford flagship store in London, Tom Ford offices in London and Milan, Tateossian London, Antony Morato stores worldwide, and the Harmont & Blaine stores in Italy, France, United States, Mexico and Dubai.
Since moving to New Zealand in 2019, and whilst at Spaceworks, Disk worked on a range of projects, including the new 2degrees concept stores in Newmarket and Sylvia Park, OfficeMax B2B hubs and showrooms, the IQOS boutique in Newmarket and various spaces inside the new Residium Design + Building Centre, such as NZ Panels Group and ABI Interiors.
“We’re delighted to have Nancy join the Ministry team,” says Malcolm Ewart, Director at Ministry. “Her extensive experience, along with her innovative approach to design, adds a new dimension to our projects. But more importantly, her proven design ability across multiple sectors is the perfect addition to our client-centric approach to design and reinforces our commitment to excellence.”
“As a designer, Nancy elevates spaces beyond expectation,” says Ewart. “Her client-focused manner aligns perfectly with our focus on delivering design as a professional service. She’s great with people, is friendly and approachable and works closely with both clients and contractors. We believe having her on the team strengthens both our current expertise and our ability to deliver innovative design solutions.”
