Wellington-based kitchen designer Damian Hannah has won Excellence in Retail Architecture at the German Design Awards, presented by the German Design Council. His winning project – UnserHaus’ Parnell retail space, which showcases the latest from German appliance brands Bosch, NEFF and Gaggenau – is an interactive showspace divided into three zones yet unified in an aesthetic at once modern and sleek, and was plucked by a jury of 39 members, including designers Nina Bruun, Hanne Willmann and Felix Heck.

“I’m thrilled to have embarked on this esteemed project and proud of what the team has created, which has been my biggest commission to date,” says Hannah. “It encompassed so many moving parts. We were sourcing materials from all over the world to ensure the highest quality furnishings.”

“When we set about creating UnserHaus we wanted to create a warm, friendly space that fused luxury with a welcoming environment,” adds Sara Isherwood, UnserHaus’ sales manager. “One year on from opening, we’re extremely excited about what the future holds for our space.”
