NZIOB ‘Connect’
In the aftermath of the Mainzeal receivership, the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB) has announced an initiative to support displaced employees of both Mainzeal and its sub-contractors.
The service taps out-of-work personnel into the Institute’s network of construction industry employers. The NZIOB ‘Connect’ programme has established a ‘Positions Wanted’ page on its website. A listing on this page will trigger an email alert which will be sent to the NZIOB database.
This is a free service for both NZIOB members and non-members, and has been established for the sole purpose of assisting those who now find themselves out of work as the result of Mainzeal going into receivership.
“It is an extremely challenging environment for our Mainzeal members” says NZIOB National President, Samir Govind. “The ‘Connect’ initiative builds on individual acts of assistance that NZIOB members have been undertaking on their own account this past week. The Institute is comprised of many senior members of construction companies, and so we are well placed to play a part in ensuring that New Zealand doesn’t lose valuable skill-sets and experience.”
