John, tell us about one of the previous winners of the Interior Awards that resonated with you and why?

John: The Hotel Britomart, winner of the Hospitality Award 2021, sticks in my mind as an amazing piece of interior architecture and design. I particularly like the use of local materials and art, like the work of renowned painter Shane Cotton, which creates the many references to our history and makes an emotional connection to our land. 

Hadleigh, is there a favourite hospitality spot, either here or overseas, that you always recommend?

Hadleigh: Café Jerusalem in Kerikeri, Northland is a hidden gem. Its authentic cuisine and intimate atmosphere create an unrivalled experience. It’s my recommendation to anyone heading up that way.
