Shortlist revealed: 2016 Eat Drink Design Awards
The annual Eat Drink Design Awards celebrates excellence and innovation in the design of hospitality venues of all scales and types, retail environments for the sale of food and beverages and visual identities for both.
Cheshire Architect’s Saan restaurant in Ponsonby, Auckland is the sole New Zealand project that has been shortlisted, in the Best Restaurant Design category.
In 2016, the awards received more than 150 entries across the six categories: Best Bar Design, Best Restaurant Design, Best Cafe Design, Best Temporary Design, Best Retail Design and Best Identity Design. From this, the jury has shortlisted seventy-seven projects from across Australia and New Zealand.
Bringing together the expertise and experience of the design and hospitality communities, the judging panel for 2016 comprised restaurant and food critic Terry Durack, interior architect Adele Winteridge, interior designer Hamish Guthrie, food and lifestyle publisher Julie Gibbs and Cameron Bruhn, editorial director of Architecture Media.
