Vale: John Kenneth Albert
The New Zealand Institute of Architect has announced the passing of John Albert, who served as the professional services manager for the Institute. John passed away unexpectedly following an accident at home.
The NZIA noted, “Many members will have known John personally, and many more will have benefitted from his counsel. John cared deeply about his role; he valued the contribution of our members, understood their concerns, and enjoyed their company. He was a knowledgeable, discrete and supportive advocate for members’ interests. His engagement with, and on behalf of, members was always characterised by sympathy, good humour and a determination to find common sense solutions to challenging issues.”
There is no doubt that John has had an impact on the NZIA and within the wider architectural community, and his loss is felt greatly.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 28 May at 1pm, at St Francis de Sales and All Souls Catholic Church, 2A Albert Street, Devonport, Auckland.
