Formica Formations Awards Evening

The Formica Formations Design Competition set a challenge to design a piece of furniture out of Formica materials. Contestants were encouraged to match their talents with the likes of Zaha Hadid, Massimo Vignelli and Peter Eisenman.

The winner will have their work fabricated by The Laminex Group for display as part of the international design collection they have brought to Auckland and the winner’s work will be featured in future Formations media material.

There are two categories. One for established architects and design professionals, and one for emerging talent. Contestants work will be judged by industry professionals including world renowned furniture and lighting designer David Trubridge.

The Formica Formations Exhibition chairs will be on display at The Laminex Group following the awards evening. They will be available for viewing Mon-Fri from 1.30-4.30pm until 18 November.
