Steel: the proven performer for a new Christchurch
With the rebuilding of Christchurch, a focus on seismic performance will likely change the rules of construction that apply, both in Christchurch and nationally. Steel is a leading structural solution in New Zealand and worldwide, however it is less well-known in Christchurch. The forum is an opportunity for specifiers to learn about steel technology designed to withstand seismic events; builders will see how projects can be completed faster using steel; and developers / owners will see how steel can produce good commercial outcomes.
The seminar will start with an opening address by Hon. Maurice Williamson, Minister for Building and Construction, which will be followed by speakers and panel discussions that will focus on three key considerations of steel: technical, commercial and design.
There is no cost to attend this event, however, it is by invitation only and numbers are strictly limited. Please RSVP by Friday 3rd February, 2012.
