New Architecture and Science in Antartica
Ice Lab: New Architecture and Science in Antarctica is a touring exhibition that showcases the ingenuity of the designs behind five Antarctic research stations, illustrating how contemporary architecture is enabling scientists to live and work in one of the most extreme environments on the planet.
The Cape Hallett Station buildings, which were completed in 1958 and abandoned in 1973, make up part of this joint exhibition. The exhibition was commissioned by the British Council and curated by The Arts Catalyst. It is on loan from the British Council and is part of NZIceFest.
