The Christchurch edition of People Building Better Cities exhibition runs from the 28 July - 29 August 2015.

Te Pūtahi – Christchurch centre for architecture and city-making presents People Building Better Cities, an exhibition by Global Studio and the Center for Sustainable Urban Development, Colombia University.

Running from 28 July to 29 August 2015 at the Te Pūtahi Pop-Up Space in the Unimed Building at 163 Gloucester Street, the Christchurch edition of People Building Better Cities exhibition promotes participation and inclusive urbanization through its public programme, which includes discussions, lectures, interaction, professional development training and school workshops.

Building on the work of Global Studio (an international educational programme), this exhibition documents community-driven projects that share a common goal: the promotion of inclusive urbanization to improve the lives of the urban poor through innovations in participatory design and planning. It has travelled to ten countries already.

The public programme of associated events runs for five weeks, the highlight of which is a free public lecture on Thursday 30 July by visiting scholar and architect, Anna Rubbo (Center for Sustainable Urban Development, Colombia University) at CPIT. She will discuss how design and planning processes can promote equity and agency in city development.

For further information, including five weeks of associated events, see the website.
