Launch of the Greg Bowron Trust

The Greg Bowron Trust is being launched to commemorate the life and work of the late Greg Bowron (1962-2007), who made significant contributions to New Zealand’s built heritage as a New Zealand Historic Places Trust conservation advisor in Wellington for most of the 1990s, then as North Shore City’s heritage adviser and finally as Manager–Heritage for Housing New Zealand Corporation.

To commemorate Greg’s work, the Trust aims to establish a travelling scholarship for New Zealand architects, heritage professionals and postgraduate students wanting to advance their conservation knowledge by studying heritage and historic buildings overseas, with a view to developing New Zealand’s heritage expertise in the future.

Event starts at 5.30pm.

Presented by the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, this event is just one in a series of lectures, activities and events, happening from October 23rd to 30th at a number of locations. To find out more about Auckland Architecture Week, click here.
