The three talks in this year’s Spring Series focus on the theme of Urban Regeneration.

Join the NZIA Auckland Branch for their Spring Series, an annual event held at Jasmax’s Auckland studio. This year, across three events, diverse built environment practitioners and academics will respond to the theme Urban Regeneration.

The United Nations predicts that in 2050, 68% of the world’s population will live in urban areas. This translates to another 2.5 billion people in cities throughout the world – many of which are already struggling to deal with ageing infrastructure and a climate emergency.

Urban Regeneration as a practice seeks to create sustainable economies, resilient infrastructure and grow cultural capital. The 2019 NZIA Auckland Branch Spring Series will feature an amazing line-up of talks from international architects alongside New Zealand’s very own, discussing projects from Auckland, Beijing, Christchurch, Glasgow and Oslo.

The three events bring together a cross section of viewpoints, from academics to practitioners, but all feature a common thread – how can urban regeneration create a better city for tomorrow?
