Sir Ian Athfield Memorial Lecture 2016
A free annual lecture in Wellington in memory of one of New Zealand’s great architects, Sir Ian Athfield.
Neil Durbach, director of the internationally acclaimed Australian practice, Durbach Block Jaggers, will present this year’s lecture. Over the past 15 years, the Sydney-based firm has designed a number of virtuoso projects, including the Garden House and Holman House, the Roslyn St Building in King’s Cross, the Brick Pit Ring at Homebush Bay and, recently, the fast-becoming iconic North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club.
A highly accomplished architect, Neil Durbach is also an insightful and witty commentator on architecture in his city and country and beyond.
The Sir Ian Athfield Memorial Lecture is organised by the New Zealand Institute of Architects, and is free thanks to the support of Metalcraft Roofing and Colorsteel.
Talk runs from 2 to 3pm. 10 CPD points available.
