Matekitātahi Rāwiri is an architectural designer whose practice is grounded in the transmission of mātauranga Māori across design, craft and the built environment. As Creative + Design Director at ŌRUA, he specialises in the authentic integration of cultural narratives within contemporary architecture. Descending from a lineage of tīpuna learned in traditional philosophy, art, craft and whare construction, his work explores how Indigenous knowledge systems shape form, spatial logic and material expression in ways that honour both people and place. He is recognised as an industry leader for his ability to embed cultural narratives with depth and integrity throughout the design process, positioning his practice at the forefront of contemporary Māori architecture.
