Nick Roberts is a director of Roberts Gray Architects, a practice that seeks to advance architecture’s enduring qualities of space, form, material and light, in close conversation with the emerging social, ecological and economic conditions that shape our contemporary experience. Nick’s depth of design experience has been drawn from years working as an architect and design leader for some of New Zealand, Australia and the Netherlands’ most renowned practices. Prior to founding Roberts Gray Architects, Nick developed a body of work that has been awarded and published widely. Most recently, Nick led the design of a suite of buildings for John Wardle Architects that received AIA National awards. In 2022, he was selected for the AIA Dulux Study tour, one of the institute’s most coveted awards. Other highlights include exhibited work at the Venice Biennale, winning the competition for the Australian Prime-Minister’s residence, writing a monograph for UNStudio, and teaching at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the University of Melbourne and RMIT.- Occupation
