Jasmax has announced the promotion of 17 associates, senior associates, and associate principals across New Zealand and Australia, including the promotion of Chris Rogers, Sydney Studio Lead, to Principal.

Jasmax’s new Sydney studio (est. 2022), will be led by local architect Chris Rogers, who previously worked for renowned Edinburgh-based firm Richard Murphy Architects and TERROIR in Sydney, before establishing his own practice, NO MAD.

It was during his time as Principal at TERROIR’s Sydney studio, that Castle Cove House, of which he was project lead, won the ‘Completed Buildings: House Award’ at the World Architecture Festival in 2019.

Sjoerd Post, former CEO said of the appointment: “After meeting Chris, I knew he was the right choice to lead Jasmax’s Sydney studio. His energy and experience are complemented by outstanding design and communication skills. We are excited to see where this opportunity leads our business and are delighted to have found such a talented individual to help make this venture a success.”

An award-winning designer with extensive experience in masterplanning, education and residential design, Chris will support Jasmax in seeking new opportunities within Australia whilst continuing to lead his existing projects.

The Sydney studio is Jasmax’s fourth location, with three offices located in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington and Ōtautahi Christchurch. The practice says its Australian arm provides a solid base for its members to work more seamlessly across the Tasman, while at the same time increasing opportunities and the cross-pollination of ideas across both jurisdictions.

“I am looking forward to observing how Te Tiriti o Waitangi is influencing design outcomes in Aotearoa New Zealand through a bicultural approach to design. There is a huge opportunity for our two nations to learn more about one another and leading Jasmax’s Sydney studio will make this a reality for myself and our design teams,” says Sydney Studio Lead, Chris Rogers.

Matt Glubb, Acting CEO at Jasmax, says: “Chris’ promotion to Principal reflects his instrumental role in expanding Jasmax’s Sydney presence. His broad portfolio underscores his dedication to earning the trust of clients, contractors, and consultants alike and to developing innovative design solutions that explore the full potential of each project.”
