Over the past 30 years, Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove have celebrated the best in kitchen design and aesthetics from across the globe. Entries are now open to this global kitchen design competition where entrants can be in to win a share of almost NZD$500,000 in cash prizes.

Leaders in kitchen luxuries, such as wine preservation, bespoke cooking equipment and state-of-the-art refrigeration, Sub-Zero and Wolf are industry pioneers who have helped to recognise and acknowledge premier design professionals and elevate careers across the globe.

Their bi-annual Kitchen Design Competition (KDC) is a prestigious contest that celebrates exceptional kitchen designs with heart, ingenuity and creativity.

“Contest after contest, we’ve been continuously inspired by the impressive kitchen designs submitted and the exceptional creators behind them,” says Jim Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero Group. “We’re proud to provide a platform for these pioneering professionals and their work to shine and receive the recognition they deserve.” 

The KDC is free to enter, with the only eligibility requirements being:

All design and construction must be fully completed within the contest period of January 1, 2022–December 31, 2023.

Entries must include at least one eligible Sub-Zero refrigeration unit and one eligible Wolf cooking appliance as the primary refrigeration and cooking medium.

The contest is open to professional kitchen designers, architects, residential designers, interior designers, builders, remodels, landscape designers and landscape architects.

Entries close January 31, 2024.

The seven categories for entry into the KDC are:

  • Contemporary Kitchen Design
  • Transitional Kitchen Design
  • Traditional Kitchen Design
  • Small Space Kitchen
  • Best Use Outside of Kitchen
  • First Time Entrant
  • Student Winner
