A dynamic trio of Kiwi expats in New York– made up of Luke Harwood (co-director of fashion label Stolen Girlfriends Club), Kirsten Nevill-Manning (former head of HR at Facebook) and Craig Nevill-Manning (Engineering Director at Google) – has recently shifted their caffeine dispensary Happy Bones six blocks further into the West Side.

The move allowed the group to rethink the design of their locale and engage architects and local craftspeople (including Ghislaine Viñas Interior Design and furniture makers UM Project). The result is futuristic, it translates graffitti’s geometries onto cabinetry and it quotes 80s neon, and industrial tones. This bastion of good taste serves New Zealand-inspired espresso, vinyl from Flying Nun Records, and independent art and design publications.
