The inaugural awards feature an impressive line-up of judges.

Kirsty Mitchell Director, Veneer

Kirsty
has 17 years experience designing commercial interiors in both New Zealand and the UK. Her projects have been recognised in design and architectural awards programmes. Kirsty established Veneer Limited four years ago providing tailored design solutions for a broad client base. Veneer collaborates frequently with design partners from a range of disciplines to advance the creative process and ensure the end result is of the highest standard.

Michael Barrett Editor, Interior magazine

Michael is editor of Interior and Landscape Architecture NZ magazines. Prior to this, Michael was at the helm of ProDesign magazine for three years and was awarded Editor of the Year in the Trade/Professional category at the MPA Awards 2010.

Andrea Steffensen Director, MCS Property Group

Andrea has over 15 years experience in the development industry and has worked on some of Auckland’s high profile developments and landmark properties. She founded MCS Property Group in 2004, focusing on the refurbishment of commercial property. Her development at 92 Albert Street was awarded 4 Star NZ (Office Design V1) – the first such award for a refurbished building in New Zealand, and was also awarded two NZ Property Council merit awards.

Rick Pearson Principal, Pearson & Associates

Rick is the architect of many award winning projects including temporary and permanent museum exhibitions. He has a strong commitment to education having taught and lectured at many universities and technical colleges. Rick takes a strong personalised approach to all projects and is backed up by a range of personnel, working with a team approach.

Kathryn Taylor Director, The Ivory Studio

Kathryn has 15 years design industry experience across an eclectic range of projects, within Australasia and globally. A huge supporter of young designers, Kathryn has won awards within workplace design, government and hospitality sectors. She currently directs her own business The Ivory Studio which is an interior architecture and design communications agency.
