Prepare to be judged: Meet the jury for this year's highly anticipated Interior Awards

For the 13th edition of the Interior Awards, we’re delighted to introduce you to our jury for 2024. This year’s lineup will see some of Aotearoa’s most celebrated minds in architecture and design come together to determine our winners amongst the industry’s finest interiors projects.

ANA HEREMAIA

Ana Heremaia (Ngāpuhi) is an interior architect and co-founder of the multidisciplinary, not-for-profit design studio ĀKAU. After working overseas for a number of years, Ana returned home to explore how design can be used to create an impact in small communities in Te Taitokerau. She is passionate about engaging tamariki and whānau in the design process and finding innovative ways to create tangible outcomes in communities where funding for design projects is limited.

DORIAN MINTY

With a background in both fine arts and industrial design, Dorian Minty is a principal at Studio Pacific Architecture, which he joined in 2002 after working on The Lord of the Rings. Dorian has been the lead designer on a number of the studio’s interior design projects and has extensive experience in commercial and residential interiors, and spatial, product, furniture and lighting design.

GOSHA HALEY

Gosha Haley is a principal at Grimshaw’s Auckland studio. Since joining the practice in 2000, she has led and worked on projects in Europe, North America and the Middle East, and across Australasia in a broad range of sectors, including commercial, education, research, retail, infrastructure and aviation. Gosha is driven by the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of people, communities and the environment through design. In 2014, she began work on the reference design for Auckland’s City Rail Link and she leads the line-wide design across the three stations as part of the Link Alliance delivery team.

ANDREW MITCHELL

Andrew Mitchell is a director at Patterson Associates and heads the civic and commercial team at its Auckland studio. Originally from Christchurch, Andrew practised there before moving to the UK, where he worked on both public and mixed-use projects. Since returning to New Zealand, he has led projects such as the Len Lye Centre, Geyser BuildingChristchurch Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre and the Ravenscar House Museum.

AMANDA HARKNESS

Now in her fourth year as convenor of the Interior Awards jury, Amanda Harkness is the deputy editor and interior editor at Architecture NZ, and former editor of Houses magazine. Her writing focuses largely on commercial, hospitality, retail and residential interior projects.

This year’s jury is looking forward to celebrating innovation, excellence and design skill as it awards the country’s top projects and people across the programme’s 10 categories.
