This year, the Interior Awards programme is delighted to welcome Laminex on board as a new sponsor. To help you get to know the team, we asked them to share some of their favourite interiors, as well as a few thoughts about the Awards programme.

Kathie, looking back at the previous winners of the Interior Awards, is there one that resonated with you and why?

Kathie: The 2019 Supreme Award winner B:Hive is one that I always remember. The two elements that come to mind when the Jasmax-designed building is mentioned are the impressive solid-orange spiral stairwell in the middle of the atrium and the walls in the meeting rooms on the bottom floor that were lined in Strandboard and coated with a soft whitewash, giving them a lovely soft textured appearance.

Ryan, is there a favourite hospitality spot, either here or overseas, that you always recommend?

Ryan: One of my local favourites is The Glass Goose, a popular after-party venue for the Interior Awards and a previous Award winner by CTRL Space. I instantly fell in love with the design of the outside terraced area and the ambiance created by the design of the venue. Overseas, I can’t go past the Hotel Erwin Rooftop Lounge in LA, overlooking Venice Beach – spectacular views and a great spot for drinks with friends.

Kim, tell us what you’re most looking forward to as a sponsor of the Interior Awards?

Kim: I’m looking forward to seeing how the past two-year journey of lockdowns and WFH has shaped A&D creativity. How we will be able to increase people’s connectivity again through design of the office space, buildings, homes and landscape through use of materials and sustainable building practice.
