Leighs Construction secures its place as a leading construction company after being awarded four medals at the 2018 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards. Leighs Constructions won the gold medal in the Commercial Projects category for work on the ANZ Centre in Christchurch. The project was described as “an impressive example of modern architecture”.

Additionally, the company won a silver medal in the Commercial Fitout category for ChristchurchNZ’s new office in the BNZ Centre. It was said that the fitout “maximises
ChristchurchNZ’s connection to the city”. Leighs Construction also took home a silver medal for the Mars Airbridge project at Christchurch International Airport and a bronze medal for Speight’s Ale House Tour in Dunedin.

“The Awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate the people behind these iconic buildings. Our people don’t just build buildings, they create functional, beautiful and resilient facilities and resources for New Zealand communities,” said the company’s managing director, Anthony Leighs.
