NABERSNZ, a system for rating and comparing the energy performance of New Zealand’s office buildings, was officially launched in June 2013 following a pilot phase that began in 2012.

The New Zealand Green Building Council was one of the organisations involved in the implementation of the system for the commercial building market and will be hosting a number of NABERSNZ Practitioner training sessions in Wellington and Auckland in September.

The training sessions have been set up to provide information to property, facilities, energy and sustainability managers, architects, engineers, HVAC and lighting specialists, councils, government and professional bodies. The one-day course aims to give participants skills in communicating the rating system to owners, tenants and other stakeholders and to prepare the groundwork for a NABERSNZ rating.
