An exhibition exploring design’s ability to shape a better future, showcases work by prominent Australian designers concerned with the wellbeing and progress of humanity. CUSP: Designing into the Next Decade, opens at Western Plains Cultural Centre, Dubbo from 9 May – 3 August.

The projects selected could potentially change the way we inhabit the world: from intelligent wallpaper that communicates with us, and an aural experience that alters the way we listen to our environment, to a design methodology that dramatically improves human health in disadvantaged communities.

Exhibitors include Chris Bosse (LAVA), George Khut (UTS School of Design), Anupama Kundoo (UQ School of Architecture), Healthabitat, Leah Heiss (artist/designer), Materialbyproduct, Greg More (OOM Creative), Florian Mueller (Exertion Games Lab, RMIT), Stephen Mushin (ecological designer / artist), Alison Page (National Aboriginal Design Agency), Super Critical Mass and Mari Velonaki (artist/researcher).

The exhibition is accompanied by a program of public events, talks and digital activity around the city and online and will travel to Launceston, Adelaide, Dubbo, Port Macquarie, Brisbane and Mornington Peninsula at later dates.
