The 2015 Auckland Garden DesignFest will take place on November 14 and 15. It is organised by Rotary Club of Newmarket and the Garden Design Society of New Zealand. Members of GDSNZ came up with the idea for an Auckland garden festival after visiting the Melbourne event, run by the Rotary Club of Kew.

The 2013 DesignFest was a huge success, with over $40,000 raised for the benefit of three charities: Ronald McDonald House, Garden to Table and KidsCan.

Charities for the 2015 event will be Ronald McDonald House, Garden to Table and the Rotary Club of Newmarket.

Following the success of the 2011 and 2013 bus tours, there will be more for 2015, visiting a carefully selected range of gardens catering for a wide range of interests. Numbers will be limited, so plan to book early to avoid disappointment.

The 2015 tours will again be led by two long-serving members of the GDSNZ: Penny Cliffin, senior lecturer in Landscape Design at Unitec, and Anna-Maria Morris, qualified landscape designer.

For further information on the event and to see previous winning gardens, visit the DesignFest website
