The OPT building in Wellington.

The Old Public Trust (OPT) building is a Wellington landmark that is currently being refurbished and seismically strengthened. The building will house the Ministry of Culture & Heritage and a Jamie Oliver restaurant.

Taking place at MBIE (Stout Street) ground floor at 3.30pm (meeting room number to be advised) on 8 July 2015, there will be a tour of the site mid-refurbishment with the chance to see some the innovative blending of historic features with modern engineering solutions to seismic resilience.      

There will also be short presentations from the key people involved with the OPT’s refurbishment and seismic strengthening.

Maurice Clark is the owner of OPT Building and McKee Fehl construction. He has successfully completed the refurbishment of other iconic Wellington Historic buildings such as the MBIE building in Stout St and the Tower Building on Customhouse Quay.

Ralph Roberts of Warren & Mahoney Architecture, Wellington
Ralph Roberts is an Executive Director of Warren and Mahoney, and leads the practice’s Wellington studio. He is a highly experienced principal architect, with a career spanning nearly three decades and a portfolio comprising commercial, residential, transport, workplace, sports and civic architecture.
