Future Proof 2012 presents Dushko Bogunovich and Matthew Bradbury

Dushko Bogunovich is Associate Professor of Urban Design in the Departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. His main areas of expertise are strategic urban design, master planning, and sustainability and resilience of cities and urban regions. Auckland’s particular landscape, an isthmus location and cardinal transport infrastructure, strongly determine its urban future.

Dushko Bogunovich and Matthew Bradbury argue that closer attention to these factors produces a development pattern which avoids both the generic template of the compact city and the unsustainable developer-driven sprawl. The result is a nuanced plan, attentive to location. It connects citizens with place in an attractive, affordable, environmentally sustainable and future-proof manner.

Talk is from 12 - 1pm.
